Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya was established in 1996 with an aim to spread higher education in this rural agricultural belt adjacent to Burdwan district town. This college at present imparts higher education in undergraduate level in thirteen honours subjects (viz, Bengali, English, History, Pol.Science, Sanskrit, Geography, Philosophy, Accountancy, Mathematics, Zoology, Nutrition and Botany) and sixteen general course subjects covering three streams – Arts, Science and Commerce. About 2500 students are associated with this college for their college level education at present. Infrastructural facilities including separate buildings for Academic, administrative, library and science deptts. A green campus of 8.5 acre area with inside concrete roads, garden and a small pond increase the beauty of the campus and give a eco friendly pollution free academic atmosphere which attracts the students from different corners of the district. A number of professional courses, job training centre, yoga centre etc. are to be introduced in near future for the students of this college.
